Warner Bros to Release Lord of the Rings Movie as NFT

Warner Bros has joined forces with Eluvio to launch a "multimedia living NFT" of the movie "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring".

Here's what we know:

  • The NFT will be an extended version of the NFT movie for a "more superior experience"

  • There will be two dynamic menu experience options, "The Mystery Edition" and "The Epic Edition" - both of which offer "new and exciting ways for fans to engage with the film"

  • The Mystery Edition is priced at $30, whereas the Epic Edition is $100.

What we think:

Because there are so many Lord of the Rings fans, this new Web3 offering can potentially bring in a mass consumer audience rather than just Web3 users.

People want to experience a more extended version of the movie because, apparently, the length of the 3-hour original movie doesn't quite cut it.

Reddit NFTs: High Demand Sends Prices Skyrocketing

Reddit onboards millions of NFTs. The individual prices of many digital assets skyrocket following high demand.

Here's what we know:

  • Reddit has more than 3 million wallets on its platform, beating out even OpenSea

  • The number of users outweighs the number of Reddit NFTs, causing high demand

  • Following this, many Reddit NFTs cost above 100 ETH ($130k).

What we think:

Despite Reddit launching its NFT marketplace in July, it's already outranking OpenSea, which is insane considering it was established in 2017.

Degens love Reddit. Degens love NFTs — win-win situation.

Big-time positive indicator in our book.

Better yet, half the people buying these things don't even know they're NFTs. We might finally be approaching stealth adoption.

From our Sponsor: The Glimmering

The World's first tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) on the blockchain, The Glimmering, minted the first 100 heroes from their Genesis Collection on October 7th.

The full collection of 10,000 player character NFTs, designed for 5E on-chain gameplay, will be randomly generated to produce playable characters with a unique combination of varying classes, ancestry, backgrounds, and weapons, with some having attributes that are rarer than others.

More NFTs will be made available for minting as the on-chain experience enters the next phase of its launch. To mint a player character from The Glimmering Genesis collection, join the community on Discord and play the one-shot adventures “A Dark and Stormy Night” or “Tower of Power."

Warner Bros and Funko to Release Halloween-Themed NFTs

Halloween is just a smidge away, and Funko has teamed up with Warner Bros for a spooky horror Digital Pop! series NFT collection.

Here's what we know:

  • The NFT collection dubbed WB Horror X Funko Series 1 will be available Monday, October 31st, art 11am.

  • The skateboards are authenticated by an embedded chip, resulting in 145 total bids

  • The sales bought in $2.5 million worth of Ethereum (ETH)

  • Someone bided for one of the skateboards for $400k.

What we think:

More NFTs are being tied to the sale of physical items, and we dig it! You only need to look at this example alongside Tiffany's CryptoPunk pendants to know that NFTs opening up physical items is a good idea.

So, roll with it!
