Starbucks Opens Beta Testing for NFT Loyalty Program

Starbucks has finally started brewing on the blockchain, launching open beta testing for its NFT rewards program, 'Starbucks Odyssey'.

Here's what we know:

  • The Starbucks NFT loyalty program acts as a Web3 extension of the coffee house's existing loyalty program.

  • However, the Polygon-based program now rewards users with coffee-themed NFTs.

  • The NFTs are called "Journey Stamps"; users can receive one once earning 500 points.

  • The stamps open up the doors to unique experiences, including espresso-making classes and a trip to a coffee farm in Costa Rica.

  • The real-world benefits seem like a good excuse for drinking more coffee (twitches n'all).

NASCAR to Drop First Line of Digital Collectible Cards

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, known as NASCAR in short, is ready to drive into Web3 by dropping its first officially licensed digital collectible trading cards.

  • The cards are dubbed "ICONs" and will feature 31 NACAR driers.

Gary Vee Voices NFT Concerns

The curator of our favorite furry friends on the blockchain—Vee Friends—and NFT influencer, Gary Vee, says that "oversupply, greed, and subpar projects are the main reason the NFT market fell so hard over the past year."

Here's what we know:

  • Earlier today, Vee used Twitter to showcase his latest blog post, exploring numerous issues in the NFT sector.

  • The blog states there has been a lot of fear and doubt regarding digital assets as investment vehicles this year.

  • Vee says, "some have been amazing projects led by true operators who focused on delivering value to their communities—most are not."

  • He's kinda not wrong, though...

Next year, we - as a community - must create NFT projects with real-world value.
