Multiverse Labs Launches Government-Backed Metaverse
AI ecosystem Multiverse Labs is set to launch a metaverse city in the UAE dubbed Sharjahverse.
Here's what we know:
The leading government agency that promotes the emirate's tourism industry, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, backs the metaverse.
Multiverse Labs describes the metaverse as a āphotorealistic, physics-accurateā that encompasses the emirateās 1,000 square-mile surface area.
It aims to transform āthe mass market tourism industry towards next-generation, sustainable practices.ā
What we think:
Along with UAE, many other jurisdictions worldwide, including China, South Korea and Japan, believe the metaverse is a potential economic catalyst.
We are buzzing to see how these Web3 innovation plans develop over the years.
ENS Introduces Wrapper Service for Sub Domains
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) announced a new wrapper service that allows the creation of subdomains for .eth names.
Here's what we know:
This new service will allow users to mint and customize new subdomains - all of which become independent NFTs.
Creators, companies and platforms can all benefit from this new update.
This new service is basically an update to the ENS code, allowing anyone to own and trade a subdomain.
It will erase the issue of creating a custom contract for subdomains.
What we think:
We can't wait to see the implications of this new upgrade considering that ENS had more than 400k new .eth registrations last month.
Christie's to Launch NFT Marketplace
Following hosting numerous high-selling NFT auctions, Christie's is to launch an NFT marketplace named Christie's 3.0.
Here's what we know:
This new marketplace will enable the legacy auction house to conduct NFT sales on-chain.
This announcement follows the Ethereum Merge, which will lower the network's blockchainās energy usage by 99 percent.
Together, Chainalysis, Spatial and Manifold created Christie's 3.0.
What we think:
Following the success of Christie's selling some of the most well-renowned NFTs ever, like Beeple's Everydays: The First 5000 Days for a whopping $69 million, it makes sense why the auction house would want to focus on these digital assets solely.
In fact, we are surprised Christie's didn't delve into creating a marketplace for NFTs sooner! **nod of approval**
