Sotheby's Reveals Rare Seedphrase Item in Upcoming Autoglyphs Auction

Yesterday, Sotheby's announced the upcoming sale of ‘Algorithmic Primitivism: Autoglyphs – A Set of Seven Types,’ a sealed bid auction from October 7-10, featuring a rare Seedphrase collection.

• Each Autoglyph includes digital and generative art, created by Larva Labs in 2019 and fully executed and stored on the Ethereum blockchain.

• The auction includes 512 unique pieces, each crafted through a complex algorithm that employs 10 distinct symbol types.

• Selected Autoglyphs have notably been recognized and acquired by prestigious institutions such as the Pompidou Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

• This auction represents a good opportunity for collectors to acquire some of the first on-chain generative artworks, estimated to achieve over $3.5M.

Christie's to Host First-Ever Auction of Dynamic Bitcoin Ordinals Artwork

Christie's London is to auction ‘Ascend’ (a Bitcoin Ordinals piece by Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell) during its Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale on October 10.

• Ascend utilizes sophisticated recursion coding that allows it to transition between day and night scenes, reflecting the actual lighting conditions of its location in Georgia.

• The artwork revitalizes the deteriorating Iveria Sanatorium by merging photography and 3D technology to illustrate how nature reclaims abandoned spaces.

• Additionally, it demonstrates Bitcoin's versatility beyond its financial role, serving as a platform for digital art that expands the possibilities of blockchain inscriptions.

• Despite existing on the Bitcoin blockchain, it offers a tangible connection through a physical print available to the auction’s winner.
