Monax Labs’ Aspen to Empower NFT Creator Royalties

Following the backlash of OpenSea making creator royalties optional, Monax Labs' Aspen is on a mission to assist NFT creators in enforcing such fees.

  • Although Aspen can't ensure on-chain royalties, it provides tools to manage who can tap into additional features related to NFTs based on whether royalty fees have been paid or not.

  • The platform prioritizes these extra features over the art itself, enabling creators to restrict access to encourage royalty payments.

  • Furthermore, Aspen advises creators to focus on delivering added value, presenting an alternative income stream in an environment whereby royalties are not strictly enforced.

  • During its introductory phase, Aspen doubled Consortium Key's revenue by motivating 90% of its token holders to comply with royalty fees.

  • Monax contends that adequately compensating creators is crucial for the sustainability and growth of the Web3 ecosystem — and rightly so!

Google's Recent Advertising Policy Shift Embraces NFTs

Google is making a change to its advertising policy: from September 15, it will finally start supporting ads for NFT gaming!

  • Google’s NFT ads will be permitted for Web3-based games that offer in-game items like virtual apparel, weaponry, or armor to enhance the gaming experience.

  • Ads promoting games whereby players can wager or stake NFTs for rewards, including cryptocurrencies and other NFTs, will remain banned.

  • To advertise gambling-related content that integrates NFTs, developers and publishers must comply with Google's Gambling and games policy and obtain proper Google Ads certification.

  • Google initially banned all cryptocurrency-related advertising in 2018 but has since softened the ban to allow some registered cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets to advertise on its platform.
