You asked. We answered.
Starting right now, we are kicking off a contest that will last through the end of October.
This entire month, NFT Lately subscribers (*cough* you *cough*) will compete with each other to earn hundreds of dollars in ETH and some awesome NFTs.
The best part? All you have to do is share NFT Lately with your friends (your shareable link is below).
Not into competition? That's cool too. We'll be airdropping NFTs to everyone that refers at least 3 friends.
Here's everything you need to know about the contest and how to participate.
Ok...now back to our regularly scheduled programming
A CryptoPunk Just Sold for $4.5 Million
Despite the bear market, CryptoPunk #2924 just sold for a whopping $4.5 million worth of Ethereum.
Finally some positive news.
Here's what you should know:
The seller of CryptoPunk #2924 was sold by a notable NFT collector dubbed "seedphrase", who bought the punk for $71,400 (150 ETH) in November 2020 giving him a spot on our top
CryptoPunk #2924 is one of 24 apes in the collection of 100 PFP NFTs. Therefore, the 38th rarest.
The collection of CryptoPunks has generated almost $2.4 billion worth of trades to date.
What we think:
Today most certainly marks a positive day for the NFT industry.
This CryptoPunk sale happens the same day as an Art Blocks creator selling $17 million of NFTs, showing the sector is finally perking up after a drawn out bear market.
Muhammad Ali Enterprises to Create AI Metaverse
Muhammad Ali Enterprises and Non-Fungible Labs join forces with artificial intelligence (AI) NFT powerhouse—Altered State Machine—to create state-of-the-art NFTs and a unique boxing experience in the metaverse.
Here's what we know:
The upcoming metaverse "Muhammad Ali — The Next Legends" will feature digital boxing avatars of AI NFTs created by Altered State Machine.
The mint for these AI NFTs will go live on October 1, featuring famous boxers playable in the upcoming metaverse.
The metaverse is set to go live sometime next year.
What we think:
We're not personally boxing fans but...hey. To each their own. We think boxing fans will find the collection a great way to stay connected to their icon and anything that furthers NFTs is something we're fans of.
Puma Takes Strides Into the Metaverse
German sportswear brand Puma is jumping into the metaverse for the first time with "Black Station".
Black Station will feature NFTs with limited edition redeemable physical sneakers as rewards.
The first lot of NFTs can be minted on September 7—ready to be playable on the metaverse.
Customers can connect in an immersive and interactive way while enjoying the brand's NFTs related to the sports label.
What we think:
It is no surprise that Puma is leaping into the metaverse, following Nike's partnership with RTFKT and Adidas' rollout with Prada. It will be interesting to see if the footwear company catches up with Nike and earns close to $185 million through NFT-related products.
