Yuga Lubs Accused of IP Theft for Trademarking BAYC Wolf Skull Logo
It looks like Yuga Labs — the Creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) — is in the midst of yet another juicy scandal! The NFT project faces accusations of sneaky IP theft for trademarking its BAKC wolf skull logo.
Bro @BoredApeYC@yugalabs what a fucking joke bahahahahaha you got some explaining to do. 4/5/21 and your kennels came out 6/21 and you went and trademarked this skull. Are you guys ok or have you bumped your heads?

Here's What We Know:
BAYC's Bored Ape Kennel Club launched on June 17, 2021, featuring a wolf skull as the NFT project's logo.
Yuga Labs applied to trademark the logo on November 15, 2021, despite having significant similarities to an image created by Easy Drawing Tutorial, released in April 2021.
A Twitter member dubbed @jdotcolombo raised copyright concerns, causing a stir on the social media channel.
Easy Drawing Guides commented that the intellectual property rights for the drawing belong to Easy Drawing Guides due to its original picture.
Co-Founder of Yuga Labs, Greg Solana, released a statement the next day via Twitter, saying that claims were "news" to the team.
BAKC has changed its logo and requested all marketplaces to do the same.
On the bright side, at least the drawing made over $1M for animal charities.
Newbie Marketplace Blur Overrides OpenSea in Trading Volume
Newbie NFT marketplace Blur has shaken things by overtaking the once-reigning champion OpenSea in daily trading volume. But it's not all sunshine and rainbows...
Here's What We Know:
According to Nansen.ai, newbie marketplace Blur has overtaken OpenSea in daily trading volume for the first time.
Blue remains the top NFT marketplace with a daily trading volume of 20,428 ETH. OpenSea lags at 4,369 ETH.
Blur's native token release is a reason for the marketplace's daily trading volume skyrocketing, causing the platform's value to soar to $1B.
Last week, Blur requested its users to block sales of their NFTs on OpenSea as a pushback to the latter's decision to ban NFT marketplaces that offer optional royalties.
As the demand for NFT trading increases on Blur, the platform has become the top Ethereum gas guzzler, surpassing Uniswap and Seaport. The more active the network, the higher its transaction fees.
