DeGods III Upgrades Artworks with Downgrade Designs

DeGods III beckons with a breath fresh and simplified designs spurred by community feedback.

• The new DeGods III ‘Downgrade’ includes flattened, simplified design with reduced details and limited use of highlight tones.

• Artists like Roy Lichtenstein and Hiroshi Nagai inspire design aesthetics such as colors, minimalist maximalism, and hard shadows.

• DeGods has introduced an AI tool on their Discord, tested with thousands of Midjourney prompts, enabling collectors to customize the new NFTs.

• Based on feedback, the release of Female DeGods is delayed to gain more insights from the women in the community.

Barcelona’s Web3 Initiative Receives €120M Investment Fund

FC Barcelona strikes a €120 million investment deal for its Web3 initiative, Barça Vision, from Libero Football Finance AG and Nipa Capital B.V.

• In return for the investment, the club sold a 29.5% stake in Bridgeburg Invest, which holds Barça Vision.

• Barça Vision seeks to incorporate the club's digital content around Web3, blockchain, NFTs, and the metaverse.

• This investment deal awaits FC Barcelona shareholders' approval, with an expected close in Q4 2023.

• FC Barcelona has a history with blockchain, partnering with Chiliz in February 2020 to produce Ethereum-based fan tokens (BAR).

• In August 2022, Chiliz bought a 24.5% stake in Barça Vision for $100 million.

• The football club also has numerous of successful NFT drops, including 'Masterpiece #1 In A Way' fetching $693,000 at Sotheby's New York, and 'Masterpiece #2 - Empowerment' selling for $300,231 via OpenSea.

Over 16M Users Acquire Reddit Collectible Avatars

Polygon's founder, Sandeep Narwal, pointed to the accelerating growth of mainstream products on the Polygon ecosystem, including Reddit Avatars, and it's no wonder: Reddit now has more than 16 million users.

• Over 20 million Reddit NFTs have been minted on the layer-2 network, Polygon, with around 16.3 million distinct holders.

• Reddit's NFTs, known as Collectible Avatars, have accumulated sales transactions surpassing $40 million, as per Dune Analytics.

• Reddit launched its 'Retro Reimagined' Collectible Avatars Gen 4 on July 27. Before that, Gen 3 sales had hit over $3.4 million.

• Alongside Reddit NFTs, Nailwal highlighted the growth of other notable entities like DraftKings NFTs and Nike.SWOOSH on the Polygon network.
